Zelleta is one type of female sex hormone, the progestogen Desogestrel. It is a one a day pill that is taken continuously, each blister strip covering 28 days.
Zelleta is taken each day at about the same time,  It should be swallowed whole, with water.

If you are new to using a contraceptive pill, on the first day of your period take the first Zelleta tablet. If you take your first tablet on days 2-5 of your period use an additional barrier (e.g. condoms) method of contraception for the first 7 days of tablet-taking.

If switching from a combined pill, start taking Zelleta on the day after you take the last tablet from the current pack. When changing from another progestogen-only pill, switch on any day from another mini-pill. Additional contraceptive precautions are not necessary.

If you have recently had a baby, you can start Zelleta between 21 to 28 days after the birth.
If you start later, make sure that you use an additional barrier method of contraception until you have completed the first 7 days of tablet-taking. You should contact your doctor if you have experienced miscarriage or abortion.
If taken correctly, it's more than 99% effective. This means fewer than 1 in 100 who uses the progestogen-only pill as contraception will get pregnant in the first year of using Zelleta .
Common Side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 women) include altered mood, depressed mood, decreased sexual drive (libido), headache, nausea, acne, breast pain, irregular or no menstruation
And increased body weight.
